Olive (Skye Hallam) is a larger-than-life bonne vivante who sits directly opposed to Sally’s more understated ways. Hallam gives the role an explosive personality. The stage bends at her command…
★★★★ Review: THE VOICE OF THE TURTLE, Jermyn Street Theatre
Skye Hallam is superb as Olive, who throws over Bill in order to spend the weekend with an old flame. She overuses facial expression in a most delightful way, especially at the start, to give her role energy and her dialogue has a true New York bounce to it – a terrific portrayal.
★★★★★ The Voice of the Turtle - Jermyn Street Theatre | Review
Skye Hallam does a fine job with a pair of brief blowsy scenes as the heroine’s good-time friend
★★★1/2 THE VOICE OF THE TURTLE at Jermyn Street Theatre
As Olive, Skye Hallam is an absolute scene-stealer, giving broad comedy and really leaning into the character’s preposterous, entirely self-centred views on how she ought to behave. Hallam’s delivery of a pivotal line, “I never knew men could be such bitches!” brings a dazzling comedic moment to a weightier, more impactful moment in their would-be romance.
★★★★ Review: The Voice of the Turtle (Jermyn Street Theatre)
As for Skye Hallam’s gushing, predatory, ultimately furious Olive, she’s a treat in any show. And her return in the last scenes is a perfect, clever Van Druten contrast to our sentimental audience anxiety about whether this springtime of young love will flower.
Skye Hallam, who played Olive Lashbrooke – friend of Sally Middleton, is an absolute fantastic performer. I loved her larger-than-life portrayal of Olive Lashbrooke, she was fierce, witty and unapologetically bold. Hallam really left her mark and brought such great energy onto the stage. When Olive Lashbrooke re-appeared, she didn’t even have to utter a word and the audience were already in fits of laughter, this was a testament to her having such great stage presence and giving the audience something to remember. Hallam’s comedic timing was unmatched. You could tell how much fun the actor was having and that made her performance even more enjoyable.

‘The Voice of the Turtle’ receives glowing reviews by various publications
“Van Druten writes women well, and it’s the savagely competitive, quipping scenes between Sally and Olive (a show-stealing, brilliantly funny Skye Hallam) that are the play’s best. Olive, an experienced actress with rebellious big sister energy, is the accidental architect of Bill and Sally’s affair. She is the play’s brightening spark, offsetting Bill’s pining and Sally’s overthinking – you’ll wish she was present for more of it.”

The reviews are in for ‘Boeing, Boeing, Gone’:
Skye Hallam plays Juliet Bravo, an ambitious air stewardess who has grown tired of pushing a drinks trolley and now wants to get her hands on the throttle. I especially enjoyed her pre-flight message in which she cautions passengers against using vapes and e-cigarettes, ‘whatever they are’. Hallam is quick-witted and particularly excels at improvised audience banter.
Best at navigating the absurdity of it all is Skye Hallam as cabin-crew member Juliet, who breezily relays her character’s backstory, ad-libbing comically to questions from the audience.
Skye Hallam gives a delightful performance as Juliet, who takes charge as an Enola Holmes and drives the night forward with spirited determination.

‘The Skin Game’, in which Skye starred as actress Merle Oberon was successfully live streamed to youtube on the 19th of May and received the following reviews:
“Hallam suggests a deeper vulnerability under the society girl sheen, a fear that others will know and despise her true identity… Hallam offers plenty of stoical reserve as Oberon attempts to reclaim her former star status.” Maryam Philpott of The Reviews Hub
“Hallam’s Oberon is frank, funny, imperious, meltingly loving, desirous, raging. Her poise as Oberon’s riveting; Hallam more than hints simmering fright beneath the sheen she invites Hillary, like McIndoe, to read closely.” Simon Jenner FringeReview
“The performance are all good and in reality would be even better. The art of this kind of broadcasting – the actors are all in their homes – has developed so that mostly you feel they really are confronting one another face to face – and the confrontations are sensational, chilling and deeply sad.” 4**** William Russell ReviewsGate
